Hai Ha: Over 201,5 thousand fish released into the sea
More than 201,5 thousand shrimps and fish fries were released into the sea in Hai Ha district on March 31st as part of activities to mark the Vietnam Fisheries Day (April 1, 1959-2023).
Held by the People’s Committe of Hai Ha district, the annual event also aimed to raise public awareness of legal regulations on aquatic resources, and the role of resources preservation for sustainable fisheries.
Situated along the national highway 18A connecting Mong Cai Border Gate to Ha Long City, Hai Ha district possesses 35km of coastline and many estuaries which create favorable conditions for the development of fishery and aquaculture.
Quang Ninh province has 250km of coastline spanning from Mong Cai to Quang Yen, with 2,077 islands at different sizes, 40,000 hectares of tidal flat areas, and more than 20,000 hectares of gulfs, which is a good condition for the development of the maritime economy and aquatic industry.
Currently, aquatic farms in Quang Ninh mostly concentrate in Ha Long, Cam Pha, Van Don, Dam Ha, Hai Ha and Mong Cai.
