“Hà Nội Days in HCM City” opened on August 23 with an artistic programme titled “Hà Nội Imprints.”
The three-day event seeks to help local people better understand the history and culture of ancient Thăng Long and present-day Hà Nội by providing information about the activities and cooperative relationships between the capital and provinces and cities in the south-east and the Mekong Delta region, according to Vũ Thu Hà, deputy chairwoman of the city People's Committee.
It also focuses on promoting and introducing the unique culture and heritage of the 1,000-year capital and its sophisticated residents to domestic and foreign visitors.
The chairman of the Hà Nội People’s Committee, Trần Sĩ Thanh, said city leaders met and expressed gratitude to 70 people and families of deceased people for their meritorious service, including Vietnamese heroic mothers, revolutionary veterans, former soldiers who had been political prisoners, armed forces heroes, war invalids, soldiers affected by chemical agents, martyrs and others.
The city would also strengthen the propaganda, promotion, and introduction of its traditional craft villages, agricultural products, and typical OCOP (One Commune One Product) products.
The event, being held on Nguyễn Huệ Street in District 1, will close on August 25.
