Gov't orders HCMC to control COVID-19 pandemic before mid-August
The Government has ordered Ho Chi Minh City to double efforts to control the COVID-19 pandemic prior to September 15.
Meanwhile, Binh Duong, Long An and Dong Nai must strive to contain the pandemic before September 1 while other localities currently undergoing social distancing have to put the pandemic under control before August 25.
The Government demands the aforesaid localities to ensure strict implementation of social distancing rules, sufficient supply of food and other necessities, and to provide timely treatment to all patients.
The Government also tasks the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue strengthening “vaccine diplomacy”, put forward proper entry policy in accordance with the new situation, mull over and put forward the recognition of “foreign vaccine passport” in Viet Nam.
As of 6:00 am on Tuesday, Viet Nam confirmed 224,894 COVID-19 cases, including 220,957 domestic cases documented in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began.
