Five-star Costa Serena cruise brings 3,500 visitors to Ha Long

The Ha Long International Cruise Port welcomed a luxury cruise liner carrying about 3,500 tourists from Hong Kong, China on September 30, reported the Department of Tourism.

The Italian-flagged Costa Serena arrived in Quang Ninh as part of a marine tourism route of Hong Kong - Ha Long - Hong Kong.

After disembarking, they explored famous destinations such as Quang Ninh Museum, experienced local culture and cuisine through a city tour of Ha Long, and visited tourist spots.

Costa Serena is scheduled to depart at 6 pm on the same day, and expected to return for more visits on October 14, October 18, November 4, and November 8.

This is the first cruise liner to visit Ha Long Bay after typhoon Yagi.

According to the Department of Tourism, Ha Long anticipates hosting around 70,000 tourists aboard between 60 and 70 cruise ships this year, with the year-end period expected to be the peak season.

Typically, the city experiences bustling cruise tourism from November of the previous year through April of the following year
