First tonne of coal exported on first day of Lunar New Year

The first tonne of coal on the first day of the Lunar New Year 2020 was loaded onto Viet Thuan ship and Vinacomin 05 ship at Cam Pha Port, Cam Pha city on Feb.1 (or the first day of the new lunar year).

Specifically, Viet Thuan received 22,900 tonnes of coal at Cam Pha Port under the consumption contract for the branch of PetroVietnam Power Corporation - Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company and Vinacomin 05 ship received 3,150 tons of coal to supply to Nghi Son 1 Thermal Power Company.

The Cam Pha Port and Logistics Company has currently been Vietnam Coal - Mineral Industry Group’s main coal consumer. In January, 2022, the total coal consumption through the port has reached over 4 million tons, equaling 7.26% of the year plan.

Attending at the ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Xuan Ky, underlined the significant contribution of the mining sector to the province’s socio-economic development, especially during the harsh time driven by Covid-19.

He also affirmed that this event signaled the joy of spring in the coal consumption market and hoped that the coal industry would strive to achieve its target for the new year, significantly contributing to the province’s socio-economic growth.
