Quang Ninh is speeding up all-round preparations to host 7 out of 40 sports within the framework of the 31st Southeast Asian Games, which is scheduled to take place in May, 2022.
Indoor volleyball matches are going to be held at the 5,000-seat multi-purpose Stadium (Dai Yen ward, Ha Long city) on May 13-22. The multi-purpose sports stadium satisfying international standard is an exceptional facility for cultural, sports competition and performance as well as other social activities.
SEA Games 31 will take place in Vietnam, from November 21 to December 2, Hanoi being the main host along with some other localities such as Quang Ninh, Phu Tho, Ha Nam, covering 40 sports and 520 events. This is the second SEA Games which Vietnam has hosted, the first in 2003.
According to organizers, 7 sports held in Quang Ninh are triathlon (at Tuan Chau Entertainment Complex), women's football (at Cam Pha Stadium), indoor volleyball (at Dai Yen Multi-Purpose Staditum), volleyball, beach handball (at Tuan Chau Entertainment Complex), Chinese chess (at the Legacy Yen Tu Resort) and chess (at the Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Center).
Cam Pha stadium will host Women Football on May 11-21. Located in the centre of Cam Pha city, this staditum has the capacity of 20,000 seats and the best grass in V-League, the top professional football league in Vietnam.Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Center will host Chess competitions from May 11 to 21. It is situated right on the bank of Ha Long Bay and has a particularly impressive design as a giant dolphin playing with waves.Triathlon, volleyball, and beach handball are scheduled to take place at Tuan Chau International Tourist Area from May 6 to 20. Tuan Chau has become well- known to both international and domestic tourists as an alluring destination.Chinese chess competitions will be organized at Yen Tu Legacy Resort from May 14 to 20. The five-star resort of Yen Tu Legacy has currently emerged as an ideal place for spiritual tourism.
