Digitalizing OCOP program attaching to tourism development

Over the last few years, the OCOP program in Quang Ninh has enjoyed rapid development in terms of volume and production scale, as well as increased customer awareness and trust. As a result, transforming the mode of commerce and promotion of items to digitalization via an e-commerce platform is a prudent move in the face of the Covid-19 epidemic's severe impact.

For the long term, both organizations and management competencies must complete and manage database systems, develop promotion channels that are effective and transparent, and manage information and data to minimize disruption.

Not just huge firms, but also small and medium-sized OCOP businesses are increasingly focusing on this channel. If storage space, product descriptions, and image sizes were limited in the past, the current platform is now capable of loading full product descriptions, as well as hyperlinks to webpages with high-resolution display quality...

Quang Ninh now has approximately 330 digitalized OCOP goods, an average of more than 100 every year. The number of participants increased to over 100 units, up from around 50 in prior years. On average, around 3,000 orders are placed every day via the exchange platform, and income ranges between VND 1-1.3 billion per year during the previous 2-3 years. Numerous OCOP goods have gained widespread recognition and consumption as a result of digitalization and advertising, including yellow flower tea and Binh Lieu vermicelli.

According to the head of the Quang Ninh Center for Industry and Trade Promotion and Development, the unit would cooperate with key industries to assist companies in implementing technological solutions such as technology barcodes, QR codes, etc. for traceability and product quality assurance. Simultaneously, it will use synchronous solutions to enhance e-commerce activities, delivering OCOP Quang Ninh items to a larger group of consumers across the country.

The year 2022 is a crucial point in the OCOP program's timeline from 2021 to 2025. This year, Quang Ninh will continue to efficiently execute OCOP programs focused on tourism and service development. Industrial commodity production is being focused along the value chain. Establishing a brand, ensuring scale and professionality are necessary to reaffirm the brand's position.

On that basis, the province will produce at least 50 new goods, further review and classify 70-100 three- to four-star items, and seek to generate two-to-four prospective five-star products for nomination to the national five-star OCOP product classification assessment competition. At least 15 economic units participating in the initiative will undergo new development.

To achieve these objectives, Quang Ninh province has approved the implementation of provincial scientific and technology tasks focused on agricultural and rural tourism model research and development. In which, characteristic agricultural and rural goods related to tourism growth are identified, tourist locations are connected, and agricultural tourism models are developed in Quang Yen town, Dong Trieu town, Dam Ha district, and Ha Long city...
