Culture-tourism village to host activities marking President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday

A wide variety of activities are taking place in May at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, in the Dong Mo Tourism Area in Son Tay Town, Hanoi, marking the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1980 - 2024), the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954-2024), and the 65th anniversary of the legendary route (May 19, 1959-2024).

Many activities are held at the Kh'mer Pagoda at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism.

The May activities, in addition to the presence of 100 ethnic minorities at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, also see the participation of 25 Gia Rai ethnic artisans in Gia Lai Province, on May 18 and 19.

May activities include the events, " Following President Ho Chi Minh's footsteps", recreating the ceremony marking the victory of the Gia Rai ethnic group, in Gia Lai Province, and the folk song and dance programmes "Central Highlands with Uncle Ho, Uncle Ho with the Central Highlands", "Song to Uncle Ho", story on Uncle Ho, a photo exhibition about Uncle Ho and General Vo Nguyen Giap, and activities of ethnic groups who are living in the culture-tourism village.

People in the Village also introduce to visitors the unique cultural features of their people, such as traditional crafts, traditional folk games, culinary culture, special dishes and other activities, such as tea picking, weaving, making musical instruments, weaving handicrafts, and making wine.

In addition, there are daily and weekend activities of 16 ethnic communities, with experiential tourism programmes, introduction to baking, wrapping cakes to serve tourists, and folk games, as well as blessing activities at spiritual spaces of Khmer pagodas and Cham towers, to introduce the culture and customs of the people, along with experiential activities at the "Common House" of the community of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups.
