Conquering the “dinosaur spine” in Binh Lieu
Along with poetic bays, Quang Ninh is also home to majestic mountains and forests, among which the long, unwinding road going straight through the hills in Binh Lieu is the highlighted spot.
Famous for its pristine landscapes, Binh Lieu is truly a paradise for conquering and discovering. In other words, this place fascinates tourists by the splendors of winding roads, terraced rice fields and forests.
Located about 270 kilometres from Hanoi capital and 108 kilometres from QuangNinh’s Ha Long city, travellers can choose to go to Binh Lieu by bus or by a motorcycle. From Binh Lieu town, tourists drive along the 18C national highway towards the Hoanh Mo border gate (about 3-4 km), turn right to Ngan Chuong hamlet, and then go 14 kilometers towards the two milestones of 1302 and 1305.
Between milestones 1302 and 1305, travellers will come across the ‘dinosaur’s spine’, or a spectacular ridge from which the vista stretches miles into the distance. Milestone 1035 is also the most popular check-in point at this place.
This “spine of dinosour” is called a must-see place for trekkers to Binh Lieu. The path is very challenging due to its length, its height and its slope but it’s worth a try. Walking in the majestic, wild mountain scenery and grasping the panoramic views of the district with winding roads, pine forests and terraced rice fields offers trekkers extraordinary senses.
