In reality, the Northeast region with  Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh triangle is considered the major cultural, economic and political center of the country as well as the leading tourist center of Vietnam. The total population of the 3 localities is nearly 3.5 million people and the number of tourists is about 20 million - 23 million visitors/year.

Hai Phong city and Quang Ninh province have been developing direct flight routes from Cat Bi, Van Don to central provinces. Their modern highways, especially the coastal road system, have been almost accomplished.

Quang Ninh and Hai Phong are regarded as target tourism markets by 5 localities. The connection between the central key tourist areas and the Northeast region creates a green tourism corridor allowing all partners to altogether develop unique tourism products in the near future.
