Building Quang Ninh Lung Hospital to meet national and regional standards
A ceremony was held on October 22 to announce the upgrade of Quang Ninh Lung Hospital as a project to celebrate the 60th founding anniversary of Quang Ninh Province (October 30, 1963- 2023).
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Ky hailed that the new hospital has modern facilities and equipment, stressing the need to improve the training for medical staff to better treat patients.
He also asked for further efforts to develop Lung Hospital into a high-quality medical centre in detecting, preventing, and treating lung and respiratory diseases in accordance with national and regional standards.
In October 2022, work started to upgrade and expand the Quang Ninh Lung Hospital from 2.52 ha to 3.86 ha, with a total investment of 631 billion VND. 245 billion VND of this figure was funded by the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group while the remainder came from the provincial budget.
Under the project, the number of beds in the hospital increases from 200 to 330, and the new hospital is also equipped with additional 443 medical devices in 45 categories of specialised medical supplies and equipment.
