Border Hoa Sim Festival promotes cultural identities
The festival of Border Hoa Sim (Rose myrtle) Festival featured various attractive activities including the Po Hen rural market, sports exchanges and folk games, contributing to binding people to their communities, fostering and reinforcing group identity.
The two-day festival was part of activities marking the 133nd birthday anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, celebrating the 60th anniversary of Quang Ninh province’s establishment, responding to the National Tourism Year, and promoting Mong Cai’s tourism.
The event aimed to create a new tourism product in association with the development of community-based tourism in Hai Son commune, contributing to preserving and promoting the cultural values of ethnic minority groups in Mong Cai city.
The activities within the festival were held in several tourist areas of Hai Son commune such as the communal cultural and sports centre, Po Hen martyrs’ Monument, Border marker 1347, Ho Dang hamlet, Po Hen village, Than Phu Xa village, rose myrtle hill and Panai mountain peak.
