The Provincial People’s Committee has just issued a dispatch on more drastic Covid-19 preventation measures, starting from 12am today.

All cafés and other beverage facilities shall only be permited to serve takeaways. Restaurants are not allowed to serve more than 10 customers in an area and at a time; there must be barriers to prevent droplets between customers. Customers are also encouraged to buy takeaways instead of having meals at on-site restaurants. Local residents are requested not to organize parties, celebrations which can promote gatherings.

No gatherings of more than 5 people is allowed outside offices, schools and hospitals. Keeping the distance of at least 2 meters at public places is a must.

Traditional markets, supermarkets, and shopping centers across the province have to be put under tighter control. Customers must wear mask faces and have their body temperature checked at health checkpoints prior to entering these shopping places. They are also asked to comply with regulations on queuing at a distance of at least 1m and conform to all defined regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control.

Vietnam entered its fourth wave of Covid-19 community transmission on April 27 and since then, 3,295 infections have been registered in 31 cities and provinces. Bac Giang, Quang Ninh’s adjacent province, continues to have the highest infections, at 1,687, followed by its neighbor Bac Ninh with 676 cases.
