Additional 277 COVID-19 cases announced

The Ministry of Health confirmed 277 domestic infections of COVID-19 on Wednesday morning, bringing the national tally to 21,312.

The latest patients are residents in Ho Chi Minh City (230), Phu Yen (18), Dong Nai (11), An Giang (10), Hung Yen (5), Vinh Long (2) and Ha Nam (1). Of these, 228 local infections were detected at quarantine camps or lockdown areas.

Among the national patient tally, 19,441 are locally-transmitted cases, including 17,871 reported in 55 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began.

Fourteen of the aforesaid localities have gone 14 days without community infections.

The number of recoveries and fatalities are 8,022 and 90, respectively
