Additional 2,967 COVID-19 cases confirmed
The Ministry of Health confirmed two imported cases and 2,965 domestic infection cases of COVID-19 on Thursday morning, raising the national caseload to 71,144.
The domestic cases are residents in 18 localities including HCMC (2,433), Long An (233), Binh Duong (64), Dong Nai (53), Tien Giang (41), Vinh Long (38), Ben Tre (28), Da Nang (27), An Giang (15), Kien Giang (10), Hau Giang (5), Binh Phuoc (5), Hai Phong (3), Can Tho (3), Ha Noi (2), Son La (2), Quang Binh (2) and Thua-Thien Hue (1). Of these, 2,784 were uncovered at quarantine camps or lockdown areas.
Among the national patient tally, 69,043 are locally-transmitted cases, including 67,473 documented in 61 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began.
Nine out of the above localities have gone 14 days without community infection, namely Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Hoa Binh and Bac Kan.
As of late July 21, 4,367,939 vaccine doses were administered, with 324,955 people fully vaccinated.
