Quang Ninh authorities announced the confirmation of 227 new Covid-19 patients residing in Tien Yen (4 cases), Van Don (5 cases), Hai Ha (7 cases), Cam Pha (12 cases), Mong Cai (18 cases), Quang Yen (24 cases), Dong Trieu (42 cases), Uong Bi (48 cases), and Ha Long (66 cases) in the evening of January 1. 172 cases were detected within the community.

The widespread Covid-19 testing has been carried out at high-risk areas. Thousands of people are now in concentrated quarantine areas and self-isolate at home and other accommodations in accordance with Ministry of Health’s directions.

Most of the cases reported in Ha Long and Cam Pha have been related to those at industrial zones, factories, schools and construction sites. The localities of Quang Yen, Dong Trieu, and Uong Bi continue to have a high number of community-acquired cases.

The provincial authorities encourage local people to actively carry out rapid testing to detect F0s early after the holiday if they have a complicated travel schedule and have unusual symptoms and immediately inform health agencies in case there is any positive rapid testing result.
