Under the cultural exchange programme, the two sides will implement a series of cultural exchange events as well as activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic ties in 2022.

In particular, the two countries will pay strong attention to the preparations and organisation of the “Vietnamese Culture – Tourism Festival in RoK”, the “Vietnam-RoK Lantern Festival” and other RoK cultural events in provinces and cities across Vietnam.

The cultural exchange programme between the two countries also aims to boost cultural cooperation through the organisation of art exhibitions, folk and art performances, the exchange of cultural delegations, the participation in international conferences on art and culture, the organisation of film festivals in each country, and others.

“Vietnam and RoK have a strategic cooperative partnership with cooperation activities going into depth, especially with the strong development in the fields of culture, sports and tourism,” said Vietnamese minister Nguyen Van Hung.

RoK Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hwang Hee said that RoK President Moon Jae-in has announced the New Southern Policy, which affirms Vietnam's position in ASEAN and the role of Vietnam in RoK - ASEAN relations.

He noted that RoK and Vietnam have similarities in personality and culture, so they have great sympathy in culture, science and technology, adding that RoK is willing to support Vietnam in human resource development and providing technical equipment for the culture and sport sector.

Minister Hwang Hee also raised the initiative that the two sides will coordinate in making Korean films at famous landscapes in Vietnam with the aim of promoting tourism through cinema.
