Traffic Safety Year 2024 launched
The launching ceremony for Traffic Safety Year 2024 and the peak period to ensure traffic order and safety during Tet and Spring Festival 2024 was held this morning in Ha Long city.
The event was jointly organized by the provincial Traffic Safety Board, the provincial Police, the Department of Transport and Communication, the provincial Military Command, the provincial Youth Union and the People's Committee of Ha Long city.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Bui Van Khang, underlined that The Traffic Safety Year 2024 aims to improve public awareness of the traffic safety rules, reduce the number of traffic accidents, deaths and injuries, and curb traffic jams.
He requested competent agencies to strictly deal with violations, especially those related to speeding, drink driving, overloading of vehicles and not wearing helmets.
Relevant agencies were asked to strengthen inspections, and strictly handle violations of traffic safety regulations to assure traffic safety and order, meeting people’s travelling demand, especially during the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival.
