The number of tourists to Yen Tu relic site tends to increase

Yen Tu relic site is one of the most famous spiritual tourism destinations in Quang Ninh province and well-known to domestic and international tourists. To minimize negative impacts caused by Covid-19 epidemic to the local tourism sector, state management agencies as well as enterprises are well implementing effective preventive measures against Covid-19, ensuring that Yen Tu relic is safe attraction and always ready to welcome visitors.

In recent days, the number of tourists to Yen Tu have fluctuated around 800 arrivals a day. Of which, South Korean tourists are less than 50 arrivals a day and have continuously decreased since the outbreak of Covid-19 in South Korea. As of Feb 27, no one among nearly 1,000 visitors to Yen Tu is from China and South Korea. Most of them are domestic tourists and a few from Western countries.

It is known that Tung Lam Development JSC in coordination with Yen Tu National Forest and Relic Management Board along with localities and relevant units actively carried out effective preventive measures against Covid-19 such as establishing the Steering Committee for Disease Prevention and Control, instaling modern body temperature scanners, providing hand sanitizer gel, free face masks and adding more medicine boxes at permanent spots along the pilgrimage route. Every day, the Steering Committee for Disease Prevention and Control in Yen Tu implements disinfectant spraying at all pagodas, bus stations, cable car system, restaurants, business establishments at the relic, accomodation and workplaces of officials and laborers.

Thanks to good mobilization in human power, medical equipment and efficient preventive measures, the Yen Tu relic site has been doing a good job to ensure safety for locals and tourists’ health. In the context of the complicated ongoing Covid-19 epidemic, this is a great effort of the authorities and enterprises. As a result, in recent days, the number of tourists to Yen Tu has continuously increased, around 3,000 tourist arrivals on Feb 22 and 23 and an average of 1,100 tourist arrivals a day in normal days.

Currently, the Tung Lam Development JSC is actively coordinating with travel agencies to seek new tourism markets towards Western tourists who are interested in discovery tours and deploy a discount program that last until June 30 on cable car tickets with the price at 100,000 VND for tickets and the return ones reduced from 350,000 VND to 200,000 VND. It is estimated that the discount program will be offered to 100,000 visitors to Yen Tu relic in this March and next months.
