In the framework of official visit to Vietnam from 26 to 29 Sept, on 27th Sept, Mr Bernard Weber- the New7Wonders founder and Mr. Jean Paul De la Feunte- general director of the New7Wonders , and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh have visited Quang Ninh and worked with leaders of Quang Ninh province.
Receiving the delegation, there is presence of Mr. Pham Minh Chinh - member of Central Party Committee, Quang Ninh Provincial Party Secretary; Mr Nguyen Van Doc - chairman of QNPPC, Mrs. Vu Thi Thu Thuy – Vice chairwoman of QNPPC and others leaders of the provincial departments and sectors.
At the reception ceremony, Mr Pham Minh Chinh has welcomed Mr. Bernard Weber and Mr. Jean Paul De La Fuente to Ha Long Bay. He also introduced them about five conditions and opportunities for Quang Ninh to continuously develop, namely: tourism, frontier economy, seaports, mineral resource and labour force.
Mr. Secretary also talked about challenges that Quang Ninh is facing and measures to be taken so that Quang Ninh in general and Ha Long Bay in particular would be in more comprehensive development. He confirmed that “Ha Long becomes one of the new seven natural wonders of the world” is not only the desire of Quang Ninh people but also of all Vietnamese people.
He hopes that after this visit the delegation will receive more significant and adequate information about the Bay to boost Ha Long’s image in the voting campaign so that Ha Long Bay would become one the seven new natural wonders of the world.
Mr Bernard Weber has expressed his impression of Ha Long’s magnificent beauty in this first time to Ha Long. He emphasized the importance of the environment and stated that the province needs to pay attention and take measure to protect Ha Long Bay’s environment. He also said that after this visit, he will send a message about the beauty of Ha Long Bay to all international friends so that they could get to know about Ha Long Bay and vote for it.
At the meeting, the New7wonders founder has awarded to Quang Ninh province’s leaders a certificate recognizing Ha Long Bay as one of the 28 official finalist candidates.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Bay by tourist boat and stayed overnight on the Bay. On Sept.29, they will leave Ha Long to Ha Noi .
