The farther one ventures offshore in Ha Long Bay, the more mesmerizing the scenery becomes. Verdant limestone karsts rise from emerald waters, forming landscapes that resemble living paintings which are ever-changing with each angle, each moment of the day, and each season of the year.

Earlier this August, we had the opportunity to visit Vung Vieng Fishing Village and Hang Co Cave, two idyllic stops along sightseeing route No. 4, one of Ha Long Bay’s offshore itineraries.
This route has become especially popular among international travelers who choose to stay overnight on luxury cruise ships, combining world-class services with the chance to explore the bay’s more secluded and poetic wonders.

The peaceful Vung Vieng fishing village, nestled against towering limestone cliffs, offers a variety of services and activities, giving visitors a wealth of unique and memorable experiences
Visitors can explore the pearl farming process in Ha Long bay where oysters are cultivated and pearls are harvested, creating exquisite, high-value jewelry.
The site also features a display of beautiful photographs of Ha Long bay, past and present, offering visitors fresh perspectives on this world heritage site.
The unique cultural traditions of Ha Long bay’s fishing communities are brought to life through guided narratives and locally crafted displays.
The Hang Co area boasts a distinctive landscape, defined by striking rock formations, mysterious caves, and small sandy beaches nestled at the foot of the cliffs.
Inside Hang Co, the stalactites formed by nature resemble a giant pearl oyster gently opening its shell.
English visitors take in the breathtaking scenery around Hang Co.
The Vung Vieng and Hang Co areas are perfect spots for kayaking, where visitors can fully immerse themselves in the vastness of the sea and the pristine beauty of nature.
