Solemn prayer ceremony for national peace and prosperity
On the morning of July 1, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Quang Ninh Provincial Chapter solemnly hosted a prayer ceremony for national peace and prosperity at Truc Lam Palace in Yen Tu ward.
The event was attended by Vice Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Thi Hanh, and Most Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet, Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Head of its Quang Ninh Provincial Chapter.
This meaningful ceremony coincided with the first official day of nationwide implementation of Vietnam’s two-tier local government system, a historic milestone in the country’s journey of reform and development.
At the same time, more than 18,000 temples, monasteries, and Buddhist institutions across the country simultaneously conducted the sacred ritual of three rounds of Prajna bells and drums, creating a deeply spiritual resonance that echoed throughout the nation.

In Buddhist tradition, the bell and drum are revered ceremonial instruments, especially in major rites. The Prajna drum symbolizes supreme wisdom; when paired with the resonating chime of the bell, the sound not only creates a sacred and uplifting atmosphere but also helps bring clarity to the mind, inspiring national unity and a shared aspiration for peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.

The prayer ceremony at Yen Tu concluded in a solemn and reverent atmosphere, leaving a lasting impression on this momentous day that marks an important chapter in the ongoing development and global integration of both Quang Ninh province and the nation as a whole.
