The HCM City Book Street is hosting an exhibition and book fair to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945-2025).

The exhibition “A Pride of the Nation – 80 Years of Culture Accompanying the Nation” showcases 80 rare book titles and publications featuring Việt Nam’s history, culture, revolutionary literature, the life and career of President Hồ Chí Minh, and the August Revolution on August 19, 1945.

The highlight is a collection of 16 books, featuring President Hồ Chí Minh’s revolutionary career and legacy, and the President with the People’s Public Security and children.

Published by Trẻ Publishing House, the books are written and compiled by the President and prestigious historians, authors, and educators such as Hà Minh Hồng and Lương Duy Thứ.

The showcase includes books about Việt Nam’s fight for freedom and independence and the glorious victory of the August Revolution.

The exhibition also displays publications about the life and career of notable Vietnamese figures.

All books are published by leading publishers such as the HCM City General Publishing House, the Sự Thật (Truth) National Political Publishing House, and the Kim Đồng Publishing House.

Lê Hoàng, director of the HCM City Book Street Company, said the exhibition provides an opportunity for readers, especially young people, to approach rare and valuable documents to learn more about previous generations’ sacrifices and contributions to the nation, and then nurture their national pride and their love and responsibility for the country.

The exhibition remains open at the Book Street until August 25.

In addition, a book fair displaying thousands of book titles on the country’s history, culture, arts and literature and books for children will be held at the Book Street from August 29 to September 7.

Book introductions and discussions with young writers will be held during the fair.
