On September 24, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung signed the Decision No. 29/2020/QĐ-TTg on the establishment of Quang Yen Coastal Economic Zone in Quang Ninh.
Accordingly, Quang Yen Coastal Economic Zone lies in the northeast of Quang Ninh. The EZ covers an area of 13,303 ha in total, including the complex of urban areas, industries, and high tech in Uong Bi City and Quang Yen Town with an area of 6,403.7 ha; the Mac Dynasty Lagoon sea services, seaport, industries, and urban area in Quang Yen Town with a total area of 6,899.3 ha.
