On Mar. 29, in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh's Vice Chairwoman Vu Thi Thuy Thuy had a coutersy meeting with a delegation of the Britisch Council Vietnam led by Mrs. Cherry Gough, Director of the British Council Vietnam.
At the reception, the Vice Chairwoman expressed her pleasure to receive the delegation. She said that Quang Ninh is among the top 5 provinces that have the most dynamic socio-economic development nationwide. Service and tourism are the key sector in the development strategy of the province. In order to meet this goal, Quang Ninh province recognises that it is very important to train foreign languages, especially English for officials, staff members, teachers, students as well as those who are working in services and tourism sector. Therefore, Ms. Vu Thi Thu Thuy wished that the British Council Vietnam would continute to have strong support and cooperation with Quang Ninh in general and the Quang Ninh Department of Education and Training in various areas, such as: teaching English language, organising the international English language tests in Quang Ninh, holding cultural exchange activities in order to enhance the understanding of the local people about English culture and motivate them to learn English language.
In turn, Mrs. Cherry Gough sincerely thanked Quang Ninh's leader for her warm welcome. She strongly affirmed to work with Quang Ninh's revelant departments to draw cooperation programs aiming at developing the teaching and learning English language in Quang Ninh.
