At the meeting, the consulting unit presented an overview of the Project. Accordingly, the special-use forest is identified in the core area of Ha Long Bay, including the entire floating islands and the mangroves located in the Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage site with a total area of over 5,032 ha. The project aims to preserve and develop valuable and rare animal and plant species, as well as those species and animals that are at high risk of being encroached.

To conclude the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman Dang Huy Hau highly appreciated the significance and especially important role of the project implementation. He requested that the project must be properly carried out under strict procedures. He also asked the relevant sectors and department to propose the development of more tourism routes besides 8 existing ones and study new measures to develop aquaculture that comply with environmental protection of Ha Long Bay.

Regarding drawing map, he required that it must have a clear presentation of the defined area for easy identification. “The proposal must be completed by the end of December 2019 to submit to the functional authorities for approval”, he added.
