Quang Ninh Reading Culture Ambassador Contest wraps up
On June 17, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training, held the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the 2025 Quang Ninh Reading Culture Ambassador Contest.
Since its launch by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2019, the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest has been successfully implemented in Quang Ninh Province with well-organized preliminary rounds held annually.
From March 2025, the Provincial Library worked closely with local Education and Training Offices and Culture and Communication Centers to actively promote the contest across all educational institutions in the province.
The contest received an enthusiastic response from a large number of students at all levels, including those in continuing education, reflecting the widespread influence of reading culture and a growing passion for books among the younger generation.
Notably, 2025 marked a new milestone for the contest with the introduction of a new component: “Exploring the characteristics and core values of Quang Ninh province and its people.” This meaningful addition not only helped students gain deeper insight into the province’s history, culture, and people but also fostered a sense of pride, civic awareness, and a desire to contribute to their homeland.

21,000 entries from 175 schools and institutions across the province were submitted to the committee. Many submissions demonstrated high quality in both content and presentation, with well-developed ideas, creativity, and vivid imagination. Contestants shared heartfelt stories, inspiring characters, and meaningful messages that conveyed deep human values.
At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented 5 group prizes to institutions with the highest number of participants, 46 individual prizes to outstanding students.
The title of 2025 Quang Ninh Reading Culture Ambassador was awarded to Phan Thi Thanh Tra, a student from class 11A9. The First Prize in the category “Exploring the Characteristics and Core Values of Quang Ninh” went to Nguyen Bao Anh, a student from class 10A1. Both are students at Cam Pha High School, Cam Pha city.
The Reading Culture Ambassador Contest continues to affirm its role as a cultural and educational activity of great humanistic value. The contest plays a meaningful part in nurturing critical thinking, enriching emotional and aesthetic development, encouraging independent learning and reading habits, and instilling a love of books in the younger generation.
It also contributes to the cultivation of national cultural identity and the development of Vietnamese values and moral standards.
