On Aug.1, Quang Ninh’s Chairman Nguyen Van Thang, chaired a meeting to review the Department of Tourism’s report on preparations for a working session with Clipper Ventures Co.- the British organiser of the World famous Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
At the meeting, Quang Ninh’s Chairman Nguyen Van Thang emphasized that joining the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race would be a good opportunity for Quang Ninh to promote and advertise its tourism image and brand to international friends. Quang Ninh’s Chairman asked the Department of Tourism to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and sectors to make detailed plans for the upcoming meeting with representatives of the Clipper Ventures Co. Accordingly, a number of issues would be clarified, including funding, rights of sponsors, port conditions, media plans etc.
The Clipper Around the World Yacht Race is annually held with the attendance of about 70 race crews. The race will last for 11 months with a total length of over 40,000 nautical miles. The event will start on Aug.22, 2019, departing from St Kathanrine Docks port, London, UK and going through 10 countries and run until Aug.2020.
