Quang Ninh Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang presents gifts to children on International Children’s Day
On May 31, in celebration of International Children’s Day (June 1), Mr. Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee visited and presented gifts to children at the Quang Ninh Center for the Protection and Care of Disadvantaged Children and at the Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.
The Quang Ninh Center for the Protection and Care of Disadvantaged Children is currently home to 90 children, including 84 under social protection and 15 with severe disabilities. With strong support from the province and contributions from individuals and organizations, the care conditions at the center have significantly improved in recent years. Many children have grown up with stable lives and good careers.
During his visit, Secretary Vu Dai Thang encouraged and gave gifts to the children, wishing them a joyful and meaningful Children’s Day.
He expressed hope that the children would continue to study well and grow up to become responsible citizens.

Commending the center’s recent progress, he urged its staff to continue improving the quality of care and affirmed the province’s ongoing commitment to supporting child welfare, especially for those under special protection. He also noted that the province would study and adopt effective child care models from other localities to expand support for disadvantaged children.

Later, Secretary Vu Dai Thang visited pediatric patients receiving treatment at the Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, offering warm wishes for their recovery and return to their families.
He praised the hospital’s achievements, noting that it has served over 1.7 million patients, performed more than 100,000 surgeries, and handled 70,000 births since its founding. He particularly highlighted the hospital’s successful application of advanced medical techniques on par with central-level institutions.
He encouraged the hospital’s medical staff to continue their efforts in caring for the health and well-being of the country’s future generations.
