On Mar. 9th, a meeting was jointly held in Ha Long city by the two Standing Party Committtees of Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city to review the cooperation program between the two localities.
Prominent among those at the meeting were Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Van Doc and Secretary of the Hai Phong Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the People’s Council Le Van Thanh.
As reported, the cooperation program between Hai Phong and Quang Ninh has recently been under detailed and effective implementation. The two localities have worked closely to carry out the central government and the Prime Minister’s resolutions, especially those on following Vienam sea strategies until 2020, boosting socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Red River delta region.
The neighboring localities also together set up the regional and inter-regional planning of Lach Huyen (Hai Phong) – Dam Nha Mac (Quang Ninh), with a vision to develop seaport services, industries and urban areas; implement the transportation planning connecting Ha Long with the expressway of Hanoi - Hai Phong.
A proposal on the construction of a coastal road from Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa submitted by the two localities in cooperation with four northern provinces of Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa was approved by the Prime Minister in 2017.
Quang Ninh and Hai Phong also paid much attention to strengthen mutual cooperation in field of tourism, commerce, industry, etc.
At the meeting, attendants focused on discussing a variety of lessons drawn from the implementation of the cooperation program and proposing feasible solutions to overcome these drawbacks and promote greater cooperation between the two sides.
Concluding the meeting, the two leaders of Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city agreed to focus on some major issues such as carrying out efficiently the 12th Party Central Committee’s resolution on the marine economic development strategy by 2030 with a vision to 2045, the Political Bureau’s Resolution No. 54 on the socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the Red River Delta region to 2010 with a vision till 2020, the Prime Minister’s decisions on the master plan on the socio-economic development in the Red River Delta region and the master plan on the socio-economic development of northern key economic areas, the Political Bureau’s Resolution No.45 on the construction and development of Hai Phong city to 2030 with a vision till 2045, the Political Bureau’s Conclusion No.47 on guidelines and solutions to develop Quang Ninh province until 2020.
The leaders agreed on the conclusions that the two sides would continue to fully cooperate on a wide range of programs and projects namely enhancing Hai Phong - Quang Ninh tourism, preserving and developing the value of historical relics along the bank of Bach Dang river; protecting the environment in the ajacent areas and lakes such as Chanh river and Bach Dang river; exploiting the common space of Lach Huyen - Dam Nha Mac area; developing the transportation infrastructure linking Quang Ninh to Hai Phong; guaranteeing security at adjacent areas, etc.
They also assigned focal points to be in charge of coordinating a number of projects concerning tranportation infrastructure, marine tourism, Ha Long Bay evironmental protection, etc. in the coming time.
