Quang Ninh doctors and nurses volunteer to work at Bac Giang

20 doctors and nurses from Quang Ninh’s hospitals have left for the Covid-19 hotspot of Bac Giang this morning. This is the second time Quang Ninh province has sent medical workers to this adjacent locality in support of its combat against Covid-19.

With over 800 positive cases, Bac Giang has currently emerged as Vietnam’s hotspot in the 4th outbreak across the country. This province has taken drastic measures such as contact tracing, testing and isolation in response to the pandemic, especially when the new variant of the Sars-Cov-2 virus is spreading at high speed.

20 doctors and nurses are working at several hospitals in Quang Ninh including the Uong Bi Vietnam-Sweden Hospital, the provincial General Hospital, Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, the Bai Chay Hospital, the Cam Pha General Hospital, the Regional Cam Pha Hospital. These well-qualified medical workers are experienced in solving problems realted to Covid-19 fight and ready to support the treatment of severe Covid-19 patients in Bac Giang.

Also, a lot of medical equipment and facilities were transported to Bac Giang this morning.

Previously, on May 15, Quang Ninh province assigned a volunteering delegation of 200 technical staff, nurses and doctors to work at the Covid-19 hotspot of Bac Giang. They collected thousands of samples which then were sent to the Uong Bi Vietnam-Sweden Hospital in Quang Ninh’s Uong Bi city to test for COVID-19, using the real-time polymerase chain reaction technology.

The Ministry of Health confirmed 57 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, raising the national patient tally to 7,870. Quang Ninh has been among thirteen localities which have not recorded any new case in the last two weeks.
