Quang Ninh adopts stricter measures against Covid-19 spreading
The provincial Party Secreatary cum the Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nguyen Xuan Ky asked authorities of all levels to tighten measures to prevent a new COVID-19 outbreak during an urgent meeting held yesterday.
Viet Nam is experiencing the 4th wave of local transmissions with 2,872 domestic cases documented in 30 cities and provinces, in which the two northern provinces of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh are hit hardest with 1,454 and 556 cases respectively.
Notably, on May 25, Bac Giang province, Quang Ninh’s adjacent locality, recorded over 300 new infected cases.
Quang Ninh has detected no new case in the community since the one related to Hanoi’s K Hospital (Tan Trieu branch) was recorded 18 days ago. The province traced 1,123 F1 and 2,043 F2 associated to the country’s hospots and all of them tested negative for Covid-19.
In order to maintain safety for local residents, the provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Xuan Ky requested leaders of all districts and departments to raise the maximum Covid-19 alert level for Covid-19 spread.
All residents and businesses were asked to timelily inform the authorities of any suspected cases in the community. They were also encouraged not to go out of the province and to Covid-19 infected areas during this time.
Covid-19 checkpoints must implement stricter control of people and vehicles going in and out of the province, especially pay great attention to drivers (buses, goods transport vehicles, containers, cargo ships), crew members and passengers.
Theaters, cinemas, sport facilities (gyms, yoga, snooker clubs, football yards and swimming pools), spa and beauty salons, karaoke parlors, street food stalls, golf courses continue to be closed. Commercial and service establishments namely wholesale and retail shops, lotteries, resorts, tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants, cafés, hair salons strictly implement the Ministry of Health’s 5K campaign: khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering) and khai bao y te (health declaration), defining these measures as decisive factor to reduce community transmissions. Takeaway services are encouraged and people need to keep a distance of at least 1m. Records of staff, customers and visitors must be maintained for contact tracing purposes. These establishments would be closed and fined if found to ignore preventive measures.
He also underlined the importance of proactive control on a large scale to prevent the risk of Covid-19 transmission by doing more Covid-19 testing and promoting the operation of community-based Covid-19 prevention teams, or the expanded hands of authorities and the healthcare system.
The Department of Education and Training is supposed to carry out preparatory tasks for the entrance exam to high school in June and the high school graduation exam in July in line with all defined regulations of Covid-19 prevention and control.
The Management Board of Economic Zones, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and the People's Committees of all districts tighten control over every industrial park and factory in the province, ensuring both production capacity and the safety and heath for workers.
