Quang Ninh has been active and creative in calling for investment into the province, and developing tourism products such as: eco-tourism, adventure tourism; or community-based tourism in Dong Trieu town, and Hoanh Bo, Binh Lieu, Tien Yen districts, etc. in an effort to create more new tourism brands and promote local tourism.
With a desire of developing Quang Ninh tourism at the regional and international scale, Quang Ninh greatly attaches importance to calling for the organization of attractive tourist events which are supposed to bring new chances to Quang Ninh tourism to be boosted. For instance, the International Circus Festival which will be held in Ha Long for the first time in mid-November of 2019 is expected to not only attract a large number of visitors to Ha Long but also pave the way for promoting investment in tourism and services with a series of sideline activities.
Quang Ninh’s Chairman strongly emphasized that the organization of theInternational Circus Festival 2019 will not only better promote the values of Quang Ninh Planning and Expo Center, a new tourism attraction of Quang Ninh but also contributes to further develop the province’s tourism sector in the future.
Another important event marking Quang Ninh’s tourism milestone is the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race 2019- 2020 in which Quang Ninh participated. “Ha Long Bay - Viet Nam" clipper, the only one of Vietnam joinnig the race is expected to advertise Quang Ninh’s tourism image brand to the world, and will certainly be a golden opportunity for Quang Ninh to welcome potential domestic and foreign investors to develop tourism.
Quang Ninh tourism has seen strong growth thanks to the strengthening of developing new products and boosting its images and brands. As a result, tourism growth rate of the province keeps a fast and sustainable pace. In the first eight months of 2019, the number of tourists coming to Quang Ninh was estimated at 10.5 million, of which the amount of international visitors reached 3.7 million, up 14% over the same period; total tourism revenue was estimated at VND20.7 trillion, seeing a year-on-year 29%. With this possitive results, Quang Ninh strives to receive 15 million tourist arrivals, including 7 million international ones by 2020 and 30 million arrivals by 2030, aiming at becoming one of the leading developed tourism localities in Vietnam and in the ASEAN region.
