Quang Ninh’s Chairman Nguyen Tuong Van celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival with children in Ha Long

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Tuong Van, on Sept. 21 visited and gave mid-autumn festival gifts to children studying at Hoanh Bo Ethnic Minority Boarding School, Troi Primary School and Troi Secondary School in Ha Long city.

Notably, Hoanh Bo Ethnic Minority Boarding School has 123 students of ethnic minorities.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman Nguyen Tuong Van presented gifts to the local children, especially those living under difficult circumstances, and extended his best wishes to children on full-moon festival.

Praising their efforts to overcome difficulties and study hard, he then wished the children continue to nurture patriotism, pride and passion, and study well in order to contribute to building the province in particular and the country in general when they grow up.

The chairman also asked local authorities, sectors, teachers and parents to roll out practical activities to take care of children, especially those who are disadvantaged.

At the festival night, the children happily joined traditional art program.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month on the lunar calendar, which falls on September 21 this year, is also a festival for chidren in Vietnam. Many activities are held for children on this day, including gatherings to decorate fruit trays, lantern parades, lion dances, and gift giving while conforming to all regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control.
