Nearly 300 Vietnamese and Chinese cyclists join friendship cross-border ride
Themed “Cycling across the border - Friendship in motion”, a cross-border cycling event was organized on March 31 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China and to promote the Vietnam-China Year of People-to-People Exchange 2025.

Approximately 300 athletes from both nations convened at the Hoanh Mo (Vietnam) – Dong Zhong (China) border gate to participate in an official opening ceremony.
After that, the participating cyclists embarked on their journey from Hoanh Mo Border Gate, traveling along National Highway 18C towards Tinh Huc Intersection and subsequently reaching Binh Lieu Town Center. The ride, which spanned approximately one hour, was conducted under stringent security and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all participants. Additionally, logistical arrangements for delegates and athletes were meticulously organized, contributing to the overall success of the event.
This initiative aimed to put into practice the agreements and cooperative commitments made during the Spring 2025 meeting between the Party Secretaries of Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Lang Son, and Ha Giang (Vietnam) and the Party Secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China).
The event was jointly overseen by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Quang Ninh Province (Vietnam) and the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Fangchenggang City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China). The People’s Committee of Binh Lieu District (Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam) and the People’s Government of Fangcheng District (Fangchenggang City, Guangxi, China) co-organized the event in collaboration with relevant governmental agencies and stakeholders.
