National COVID-19 patient tally crosses 38,000

The Ministry of Health announced 805 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday morning, raising the national caseload to 38,239.

The latest patients included four Vietnamese who returned to the country between June 10 and July 12.

All the others are domestic infections in HCMC (603), Dong Nai (72), Dong Thap (36), Phu Yen (18), Khanh Hoa (18), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (17), Ha Noi (11), Hung Yen (10), An Giang (8), Ninh Thuan (7) and Dak Nong (1). Of these, 725 were uncovered at quarantine camps or lockdown areas.

Among the national patient tally, 36,280 are locally-transmitted cases, including 34,710 documented in 58 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began.

Twelve out of the above localities have gone 14 days without community infection, namely Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Hoa Binh and Bac Kan.

As of late July 14, 4,146,767 vaccine doses were administered. About 286,772 people have been fully vaccinated.
