National COVID-19 patient tally crosses 14,000, two more Coronavirus-related deaths announced
The Ministry of Health confirmed 127 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the national patient tally to 14,116.
The latest patients include a 35-year-old woman repatriated from India on June 16.
All the others are domestic infections in Ho Chi Minh City (75), Binh Duong (27), Bac Giang (16), Bac Ninh (5), Hung Yen (2), and Thai Binh (1), of these 119 were recorded in quarantine camps or lockdown areas.
Among the national caseload, 13,390 are local infection cases, including 10,820 cases reported in 45 cities and provinces since the fourth COVID-19 wave began on April 27, 2021.
Sixteen out of the above localities, namely Yen Bai, Quang Ngai, Quang Ninh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, Bac Lieu, Dien Bien, Dak Lak, Dong Thap, and Vinh Phuc have gone 14 days without a single community infection case.
The ministry also announced the 71st and 72nd COVID-19-related fatalities. Both of them are elderly patients with underlying health conditions
