Iconic buildings of Ha Long city

The people of Ha Long City are looking forward to the ideas of building some icons at intersections and sightseeing spots to viewing Ha Long Bay from above, which have recently been proposed to the QNPPC for approval.

The icons with unique and modern design symbolize Quang Ninh’s dynamic development in association with its historical tradition, natural landscapes and environment.

According to the consultant of architect Salvador Perez Arroyo, who designed some iconic buildings of Ha Long city, such as Quang Ninh Provincial Museum and Library; Quang Ninh Planning and Expo Center; Clock Tower, the city now needs 4 more icons at the intersections of Tuan Chau, Hoang Quoc Viet, Cai Dam and Cai Dam. The icons with unique and modern design symbolize Quang Ninh’s dynamic development in association with its historical tradition, natural landscapes and environment. In particular, there will be a national flag symbol and a balcony system on the top of Bai Tho mountain. This will be an open space for locals and visitors to see Ha Long Bay from above. In addition, according to Salvador Perez Arroyo architect’s proposal, on Tran Quoc Nghien, a 30-meter dragon symbol complex with walking roads would create an impressive landscape space.

Although the graphics for the designer's idea haven’t been revealed, many people believe with creative and unique design, those works would be new tourism products of Ha Long city, attracting locals and visitors.
Ha Long city has experience in hiring consultant firms and architects to successfully design a number of iconic buildings, such as Clock Tower in the heart of the city or the ceramic painting in Bai Chay ward, it is strongly believed that the implementation of the proposed works at the intersections and sightseeing spots in the city would be successfully.
