Hanoi and Quang Ninh welcome numerous visitors during holidays
The capital city of Hanoi greeted around 550,000 visitors during the four-day holiday to celebrate National Liberation Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1), 20 times higher than the same period last year.
Nearly 2,000 of them were foreigners, according to the municipal Tourism Department. Total revenue from tourism activities was estimated at over 1.5 trillion VND.
Tourist sites in Hanoi that recorded numerous visitors include the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Temple of Literature, Hoa Lo Prison, and Tay Phuong Pagoda.
Meanwhile, holidaymakers visiting the northern province of Quang Ninh numbered nearly 290,000 from April 30 to May 2, according to the provincial Tourism Department.
The province is expected to greet an additional 40,000 – 50,000 holidaymakers on May 3, the last day of the four-day holiday.
In the past three days, a total of over 60,700 passengers visited Ha Long Bay on cruise ships.
At the same time, more than 80,000 vacationers visited tourist spots in Mong Cai City while 12,000 holidaymakers spent their time in Co To Island District.
The Quang Ninh provincial museum has also been a popular check-in location for visitors to the area as it received nearly 15,000 people on May 1 and 2.
