Ha Long city receives ASEAN Clean Tourist Award 2022
Ha Long city is one of three cities set to be presented with the ASEAN Clean Tourist Awards 2022 at the 2022 ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF 2022), according to the General Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on January 19 in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.
The trio are Ha Long city of the northern province of Quang Ninh, Da Lat city of the Central Highland province of Lam Dong, and Vung Tau City of the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
The awards aims to honour and popularise localities and at the same time boost high-quality tourism services in the region, making a contribution to promoting the national brand "Vietnam - Timeless Charm"
In order to earn the honour, cities must satisfy criteria relating to environmental management, cleanliness, waste management, awareness-building on environmental protection and cleanliness, green spaces, health, urban safety for tourists, tourism infrastructure, and meeting facilities.
The awards ceremony will be held on January 19, 2022 at the Sokha Beach Resort hotel, within the framework of the ATF 2022 program.
