Binh Lieu Yellow Season Festival 2024 to open in October
Binh Lieu yellow season festival is scheduled to take place in October to honour the ethnic traditional cultures and natural beauty of the border district of Binh Lieu.
Fortunately, Binh Lieu district didn't suffer from serious damage caused Typhoon Yagi, which makes the recovery work become quicker than other typhoon-hit localities in the province.
Therefore, the annual “Hoi mua vang” (yellow season festival) is going to take place in October to honour the ethnic traditional cultures and natural beauty of the border district of Binh Lieu. The festival will include a variety of activities for participants to get immersed in local cultures and explore the beauty of the terraced fields during the ripening rice season such us a running race, com moi (new rice) worshiping ceremony, a pageant for most beautiful girl in traditional costume, a paragliding programme and an ethnic women’s football tournament, etc.
Binh Lieu possesses high mountainous terrain with stunning waterfalls such as Khe Van, Khe Tien and Song Mooc. The terraced fields here are called "golden carpets" during the ripe rice season. The immense “heaven” of white reed grass and vast acacia and Ceylon cinnamon forests Binh Lieu have currently regarded as the most mesmerizing views in this district.
With 96% of the population being ethnic minorities, Binh Lieu district is now developing models of preserving cultural values of ethnic groups.
To capitalise on these advantages, it has stepped up tourism promotion and investment attraction to this sector. Besides, it is working to implement a plan on sustainable tourism development in tandem with poverty reduction and socio-economic development in Binh Lieu.
