Thanks to its own way for tourism development, from an unknown locality, at present, Binh Lieu has become a must-see destination on Quang Ninh’s tourist map.
Binh Lieu is a mountainous terrain locality covered with fragrant star-anise, cinnamon and so forests, terraced fields, overlapping grassy plateaus, creating a magnificent landscape. There are a range of fascinating natural landscapes scattered everywhere, such as Khe Van waterfall, Cao Ba Lanh Mountain, Cao Xiem Mountain, the famous 1305 border milestone which is known as "the spine of the dinosaur". Being bestowed by nature with fresh air and beautiful sceneries along with diversified terrains, Binh Lieu is really an interesting destination to explore.
Defining potential and advantages for tourism development, since 2014, tourism development orientation has been considered as a breakthrough in the district’s socio-economic development. Along with promoting local tourism potential and strengths, the district has stimulated domestic tourism and given priority to investing in tourism infrastructure as well as calling on investors to join hands in building attractive tourism products. Since then, tourists have started to come to Binh Lieu via backpacking tourism and tours.
In 2015, the whole district had only one Binh Son motel in Binh Lieu town and about 5 small-scale motels at Hoanh Mo border gate, so far, the district has a total of 18 accommodation establishments with 197 rooms. Futhermore, the infrastructure serving socio-economic development in association with the development of tourism and services, especially the transport infrastructure, has been completely invested, such as border patrol route, a road to the Western border milestone and 1305 milestone; Luc Ngu - Khe Tien and Na Ech - Khe Van roads, ect ... have contributed to connecting routes and tourist sites in the area; thus creating favorable conditions for travelers to explore Binh Lieu.
The district has also gradually developed tourism products including 7 thematic product groups, especially exploration and experiential tourism; experiential tourism related to cultural identity and festivals in the locality, thereby, forming new products that bring exciting experiences to visitors.
In 2019, the number of tourist arrivals is estimated at 85,000, an increase of 18% compared to 2018. Particularly, the number of staying guest arrivals is estimated to reach 17,000; bringing a revenue from tourism related activities of over 26 bil.VND, up 27%.
Doing a search for the keyword "Binh Lieu tourism" on google, over 30 mil. results will be available. That figure proves that Binh Lieu tourism has gradually affirmed its position and brand on the Quang Ninh tourist map.
