The first spot in the journey to explore Co To pearl island is Ho Chi Minh historical relic site including Uncle Ho Statue, Uncle Ho Temple – Uncle Ho’s Fish Pond – Khoai Slope – Uncle Ho Memorial House – Dong Muoi. The Uncle Ho Statue is located at the center of Co To island. Co To is the first and only locality nationwide which received Uncle Ho’s permission to build his statue when he was alive. Behind the Uncle Ho Statue is Uncle Ho Temple and Memorial House which was recognized as a national historical relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
To the south of the large Co To island, Mong Rong rock area with sedimentary rock system which were eroded by seawater over tens of thousands of years creates a unique and amazing natural wonder among Vietnam’s islands. Rock layers in different colored shapes turn this place into a vivid picture of nature. What could be better than viewing the waves from high hill, immersing into the first rays of the bright sun of a new day, smelling the weed flowers and feeling the salty taste of the sea.
About 6 km from the center of the island district, Hong Van beach is the most beautiful one on Co To island. On the trip to Hong Van beach, visitors will pass through a small road, primeval forests, golden rice fields and the largest freshwater lake. To explore these interesting things, visitors can take a dip in the clear blue water, kayaking or snorkeling to see colorful fish, magnificent coral reefs etc.. in the daytime and enjoy BBQ parties with sparkling candlelight and soft sound of the waves in the nightime etc.
Co To Lighthouse has long been considered as the most view of the S-shape trip of Vietnam and a highlight for Co To tourism. The road to the lighthouse passing through a natural forest is regarded as the most romantic one to the mountain with forest flowers in bloom, butterflies and birds flying on the both sides of the road. Climbing over staircases, visitors can take a panoramic view of the Tokin Gulf with rolling islands, enjoying the vast sea and forest.
Small Co To island is over 1 km from Large Co To island. From the center of Co To, it takes 15 minutes to travel by an electric car to the port and around 25-30 minutes by boat to Small Co To island. On the boat, visitors can freely watch coral reefs, seaweeds, schools of fish swimming under the crystal clear sea. Because no people lives on Small Co To island, so it still keeps its untouched beauty which definitely brings unforgettable experience to visitors.
