On August 7, the Committees for External Relations of the National Assemblies of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam (CLV) convened their seventh meeting conference in Ha Long city to discuss about the vital roles of the national assemblies in implementing the cooperation agreements signed by the three countries in the development triangle region.
During the two-day event, delegates heard the report on the implementation of the agreements and development initiatives of the three governments related to the CLV development triangle, as well as discussed about solutions to improve the effectiveness of coordination among the three countries.
Speaking at the conference, the Politburo member and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnamese NA Tong Thi Phong strongly affirmed that despite the complicated and unpredictable situations facing the world and the region over the years, the three countries of CLV have always stood side by side, accompanied together, proactively coordinated and actively support each other to promote the comprehensive cooperation among the three countries so that it could be effectively developed.
This conference marks 20 years of establishment and development of the CLV development triangle region and is an opportunity for the three sides to comprehensively evaluate the implementation of cooperation agreements by the three countries. In addition, it is also a good occasion for participants to exchange and recommend sollutions and orientations to improve the roles of the National Assembly in legislation, supervising and promoting the implementation of cooperation agreements inked by CLV.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of Quang Ninh Nguyen Xuan Ky, in turn, made a brief introduction of Quang Ninh's the potentials and strengths. He stressed that in recent years, Quang Ninh province has always placed much emphasis on developing an effective cooperation relationship with Cambodia's Siem Reap province in tourism activities, and closely collaborated with the 3 Northern Lao provinces namely Luang Prabang, Saiyabouly and Houaphan in fields of culture, tourism, education and training and some other cooperation programs.
On this occasion, he sincerely thanked the leaders of the Party, National Assembly, Government, ministries and central agencies for choosing Quang Ninh as the host of the 7th Conference of CLV's National Assembly Committees for External relations.
