Tuan Chau International Passenger Port, a multi-facilities destination

After one year of operation, Tuan Chau International Passenger Port, has continuously improved the quality of services to build international brand. The achivements of this Port reflect the sucess of the investment form of PPP (Public-Private Partnership) that Quang Ninh has applied in calling for investments to develop infrastructure of the province.

Being built on an area of 200ha including two docks with modern design and facilities, the  Port  can accommodate around 2,000 tourist boats and thousands of arrivals at any time. It is currently considered as one of the most modern passenger ports in Vietnam.

Sice its opening on Jan. 1, 2016, the Port was operated under the model of "a destination of multi facilities including terminal, restaurants, minimarts and a series of entertainment products that can meet various demands of tourists.

With the aim of improving infrastructure of the port, and raising the quality of services, meeting the increasing demands of tourists, Tuan Chau Group put an upgraded terminal into operation in late 2016. The new terminal covers an area of over 3,000 square metres, with over 1,000 seats Its lounge area can accommodate 5,000 visitors at the same time. The port was designed as a multi-functions building including offices for relevant authorities, minimarts, kid zone, medical center, post office and stage for traditional performances, etc.

In addition, a customer care center updating information and schedules of tourist boats was also set up; more than 50 cameras and standard toilets were installed within the terminal.  Besides, free drinking water, cold towels, wi-fi are also provided at the terminal.

However, in order to recover the investment capital, from May.28, 2017, tourists passing through the Tuan Chau Port will be charged VND 40,000/pax. This new fee was approved by the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee based on the review of the Quang Ninh Department of Finance and relevant departments. Tuan Chau Group is currently working with the Ha Long Bay Management Department to include this fee into the visiting ticket to enable tourists to buy only one ticket.                    

According to Mr. Pham Thanh Tung, the Port Director,  with the purpose of creating a highlight for the tourists during their visit to Ha Long Bay, the Port will be continuously invested by Tuan Chau Group with more services of worldclass quality. 

With strong committment of the Tuan Chau Group, it is expected that, visiting Quang Ninh, tourist will be served by good quality services and the province will also have more resource to ensure the preservation and promotion of the outstanding values of the Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage and Wonder.
