Mr Phuc made the request at a ceremony to launch Youth Month 2012 that was held in the northern mountain province of Yen Bai by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Committee (HCYUCC) on March 4.

The Deputy PM asked the HCYUCC to fully grasp Party and State policies and guidelines in order to create a significant change in the building of new rural areas and contribute to national industrialisation and modernization.

Also at the ceremony, the HCYUCC approved an action plan for Youth Month 2012, which aims to increase young people's responsibility to the community and the nation.

Under the theme “Youth Joining Hands in Building New Rural Areas for Social Welfare, and Sustainable Environment Development," the HCYUCC has implemented various activities and programmes to encourage the participation of its members.

Delegates to the ceremony visited the “Lao Cai Youth and Traffic Safety” model exhibition, the youth village in the border commune of Trinh Tuong in Bat Xat district, and the youth construction at the Tang Loong industrial zone.
