On Feb. 17 (the 10th day of the Lunar New year) officially opens at the Yen Tu historical site, Thuong Yen commune, Uong Bi City .The ceremony was attended by Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan Chairman of the Central Buddhist Association of Vietnam Thich Thien Nhon; leaders of Quang Ninh province; representatives of the central and provincial departments and sectors, as well as a large number of Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns, followers and visitors.
The opening ceremony was briefly organized with a wide range of significant activities. It started with a ceremonial procession, followed by art performance a series of dragon and lion dances performed by hundreds of artists of the Quang Ninh Cheo Troupe. At the ceremony, delegates and tourists offered the incenses and visit the relic.
The festival lasts till the end of the third lunar month. It is expected to recieve more than 2.5 million tourist arrivals during this festival season.
