On June 8, in Ha Long City, the Quang Ninh Provincial Association of Farmer in coordination with UN Development Program organized project launching workshop “Multiplying community-based model of domestic waste and plastic management in 5 cities” (DWP5C) and “Ending plastic pollution innovation challenge” (EPPIC).
Prominent among those attending were Quang Ninh’s Vice-chairman, Cao Tuong Huy, Deputy Director-General of the Vietnam Administration of Seas and Islands, Nguyen Que Lam, UNDP Resident Representative Vietnam, Caitlin Wiessen…
In his speech at the workshop, Quang Ninh’s Vice-chairman highly appreciated the importance of implementing the project as it prevents plastic waste, raises local people and enterprises’ awareness and knowledge, enhances international cooperation, and improves the plastic management as well as contributing to development of green sea economy.
DWP5C is carried out from Nov.2019 to Dec.2021 in 5 cities, namely Quang Ninh, Da Nang, Binh Dinh, Binh Thuan, Binh Duong. Meanwhile, EPPIC is implemented from Dec.2020 to Jun.2022 in Ha Long City (Quang Ninh) and Koh Samui (Thailand)
