On Jan. 17, in Ha Long city, a workshop on "Organization and Community cooperation for a green Ha Long" was jointly held by the Centre for Marinelife Conservation and Community Development (MCD) and Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee. This is one of the activities "Organization and community cooperation for a green Ha Long" under the Ha Long- Cat Ba Alliance project funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
At the workshop, participants have discussed about tools and models to promote cooperation among State agencies, non-governmental organizations, businesses and communities in raising initiatives to manage, preserve and sustainably develop Ha Long bay and other typical eco-regions. They also exchanged their experiences about methods of multi-parties and sectors cooperation.
Besides, on Jan. 18, participants visited the pilot model of environmentally friendly aquaculture in asociation with responsible tourism development at Vung Vieng Fishing Village.
The Ha Long- Cat Ba Alliance Initiavtive project has been implemented since 2014. It aims to build partnership between the Vietnamese government, businesses and civil society, to catalyse actions in order to improve environmental management and protect the natural integrity of the Ha Long Bay World Heritage Site including the Cat Ba Archipelago.
