On Nov 8th, within the scope of National Investment Promotion program, the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications and Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee co-organized the Viet Nam Information and Communications Technology Investment Forum (VIIF) with the theme “IT business development – Global cooperation”. Deputy Minister of Information and Telecommunications, Phan Tam, and Quang Ninh's Vice-chairman, Bui Van Khang, co-hosted the event.
On his opening speech, Quang Ninh’s Vice-chairman emphasized that the province considered information and technology sector as an important foundation and power to boost rapid but sustainable economic growth. Since 2017, Quang Ninh’s has been among top province with high rank of Information and Communications Technology ICT index. In 2019, the province jumps to the 3rd place in the list of 63 provinces and cities. Especially, in 2018, Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) named Quang Ninh with Digital Government Award.
He affirmed that the forum was extremely necessary for information and communications in Vietnam in general and in Quang Ninh in particular in the context of integration, application and strong development of the 4th industrial revolution.
At the event, Quang Ninh’s representatives introduced provincial investment attraction environment and plans, especially in the field of information and communications technology. Quang Ninh welcomes both domestic and international IT firms to Quang Ninh seeking investment, especially once Concentrated Information and Communications Technology Zone in Tuan Chau Ward, Ha Long City comes into operation.
